SilverSounds Northwest (SSN), under the direction of Paula Hawkins, is a mixed chorus of mostly retired folks from around South King County who believe that “You are never too old to rock and roll!”
This fun loving group presents their annual Mainstage show, America’s Jukebox, at the Highline Performing Arts Center on April 9, 2017, which will feature clever themes and narration, sets, light costuming, choreography, humor and hi-jinks. In addition, several of the SSN members participate in the annual Cabaret fund raiser every February.
Most singers are involved in more than singing, as our shows offer our membership the opportunity to entertain audiences with solos, small ensembles, narrating, drama, dance and choreography. This fun-filled group performs regularly around the community.
Other Singing Opportunities
SSN is often invited to perform in the community and enjoys sharing their music with others. Some of our appearances have included the Burien Strawberry Festival, Kent Senior Center/Stafford House fund-raiser, Wesley Terrace, Judson Park, Normandy Park Senior Activity Center, Fernwood in the Park, and singing the National Anthem for a Tacoma Rainiers baseball game. We enjoy performing for others and giving back to the community with our entertaining program.
Membership in SilverSounds Northwest is open to any retired individual who wants to participate in a chorus that enjoys singing many genres from the rock ’n roll era. Singers interested in joining SSN should visit our audition page and learn how to set up a time to meet with the conductor, Paula Hawkins.
