SilverSounds Northwest (SSN), under the direction of Paula Hawkins, is a mixed chorus of mostly retired folks from around South King County who believe that “You are never too old to rock and roll!”
This fun loving group presents their annual Mainstage show at the Highline Performing Arts Center on April 17, 2016, which will feature clever themes and narration, sets, light costuming, choreography, humor and hi-jinks. Most singers are involved in more than singing, as they entertain audiences with dancing, acting and solos. This fun-filled group performs regularly around the community.
SSN’s 2015-16 concert season begins in December as it joins the entire NWAA choral family in the JOY! Christmas Concert which includes all 7 ensembles in NWAA and nearly 200 singers!
In February several of the SSN members will participate in the annual Cabaret fund raiser and in April we sing our Mainstage production which offers our membership opportunities for solos, small ensembles, narrating, drama, dance and choreography experiences to enhance the performance for our audiences.
Other Singing Opportunities
SSN is often invited to perform in the community and enjoys sharing their music with others. We have participated in the Burien Strawberry Festival, Kent Senior Center/Stafford House fund-raiser, Wesley Terrace, Judson Park, Normancy Park Senior Activity Center, Fernwood in the Park to name a few. We enjoy performing for others and giving back to the community with our entertaining program.
Membership in SilverSounds Northwest is open to any retired individual who wants to participate in a chorus that enjoys singing many genres from the rock ’n roll era. Singers interested in joining SSN should visit our audition page and learn how to set up a time to meet with the conductor, Paula Hawkins.
